How does image sharpening work?
It uses an unsharp mask technique: a blurred copy is subtracted from the original to enhance edges and detail. For the opposite effect, try the Blur tool.
Can sharpening fix a very blurry photo?
Light blur can be improved significantly. For heavily blurred images, try increasing the Amount and Radius settings. After sharpening, use Compress to reduce file size.
What amount should I use?
Start with 80-120% for most photos. Higher values can introduce artifacts. Combine with Brightness adjustments for a complete photo enhancement workflow.
