Why 96 DPI?
96 DPI is the standard screen resolution for Windows. It's used for web design, UI mockups, and screen-optimized images. Mac uses 72 DPI as its standard. Neither is suitable for print.
Does 96 DPI affect image quality?
Changing DPI only modifies metadata — it doesn't add or remove pixels. The image looks identical on screen. DPI only matters when printing, where it determines physical print size.
